JORDANIAN WHEELS TO THIRD IN DUBAI MARATHON

Jordan’s Ali Abdallah Sawalmeh finished in a brilliant third place in a world-class wheelchair line-up for the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon held at the weekend.

Sawalmeh finished behind John Smith and Rob Smith in a time of 2 hours 23 minutes to take his place on the podium. 

The event welcomed 30,000 competitors across a number of categories, with runners from Ethiopia taking the top three places in both the men’s and women’s marathon events for a share of the biggest prize fund in long-distance running.
