BOXING’S RIO QUEST CONTINUES

It’s heading towards crunch time for Jordan’s boxers still looking to qualify for this summer’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The national team has started a local camp in Amman before heading to Europe to spend time training in either Italy or Hungary next month.
The training schedule is brutal with two training sessions a day in the Arena Hall in Sport City to ensure the boxers are in peak physical shape for the Olympic qualification tournament to be held in China in March.
Prior to that the younger fighters will compete at the Asian Youth Championships at a city still to be confirmed.
The national team consists of: Abdullah Daraghmeh (49kg), Mohammad Abu Jajeh (52kg), Mohammad Al Wadi (56kg), Obadah Al Kesbeh (60kg), Ahmad Darweesh (64kg), Rami Al Khawaldeh (69kg), Bader Al Adawi (75kg), Udai Al Hindawi (81kg), Ihab Darweesh (91kg) and Hussein Ishish (+91kg).
