THE BLACK IRIS AWARDS COUNTDOWN BEGINS
Dec 30, 2015
The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) has launched its preparations for the 2015 Black Iris Sports Awards, which are findly known as the Kingdom’s sports Oscars.
The Awards, founded in 2005 by the JOC to recognize sporting excellence, will honour winners from five categories and highlight the incredible sporting year that has been enjoyed by Jordan’s sportsmen and women across the world.
This week, Jordan’s National Sporting Federations will be asked to nominate their top performers in the following categories: Best Sportsman; Best Sportswoman; Best Young Achiever (Male) and Best Young Achiever (Female). There is also an award for Best Paralympic Athlete of the Year.
Once the nominations have been received, a panel of experts formed in cooperation with the national media will decide their shortlists of three in each category for the public to vote on.
A ceremony to honour the winners will be held in February.
