COMMITTEE TO BOOST NATIONAL SPORT DEVELOPMENT

The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) is to work with a number of senior Governmental figures to ensure that sport becomes a stronger part of the Kingdom’s national agenda.
The JOC hosted a meeting to form a committee that includes representatives from the Senate’s Culture and Youth Committee, Lower House’s Education and Youth Committee as well as the JOC.
The meeting was attended by Senaters Samir Beno, H.E. Dr. Khalid Al Shlol and H.E. Mohammad Al Maharmeh, along with JOC Vice Presidents, Dr. Sari Hamdan and Dr. Khalid Atyat and JOC Secretary General, Nasser Majali.
The meeting discussed the cooperation framework and the work that will be required in the initial period to kickstart their bid to improve the sector in Jordan, by supporting national sports federations and national teams to achieve excellence.
Attendees also discussed ways of meeting the needs of the sports sector by supporting it in several key areas through a clear long term working methodology that contributes to advancing the national sports strategy.
