AL-HINDAWI FIRST UP FOR JORDAN AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Oday Al-Hindawi will open Jordan’s account on Tuesday at the World Boxing Championship being held in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg until September 21.
More than 450 boxers from 88 countries are taking part in eight weights with Jordan taking a strong team.
Al-Hindawi will face seven-time Welsh champion, Sammy Lee, in his opening 81kg bout, while on Wednesday, Mohamed Al-Wadi will meet Croatian, Fratti Ramon in the 56kg competition. On Thursday, Mohammed Al-Gharaghir will meet Serbian, Janjic Dusan, in the -52kg weight and Olympic fighter Obadah Al-Kessbeh will fight Moldova’s Alexandro, in the 63kg. Olympic quarter-finalist, Hussein Ishaish, who won bronze at the Asian Championships, was drawn against Abbas Aziz in the 91kg competition on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Ziad Ishaish has a bye in the 69kg competition and next Monday he will fight either Armenian, Estoyan Kurion, or India’s Negai.
