JORDAN HOPE FOR WINNING WORLD CUP START

The national football team launches its latest 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign in Chinese Taipei, with the added incentive of it being a qualifier for the Asian Cup (China 2023).
A positive result is crucial with some tough games ahead against Australia, Kuwait and Nepal for this second round of qualifiers which involves 40 teams split into eight groups of five.
The top teams will qualify for China 2023, along with the best four runners-up, while those 12 teams will also compete in a third qualifying round in two groups of six with the top two (four in total) reaching Qatar 2022.
The national team arrived on Saturday, headed by Federation member Salim Kheir; head coach, Vital Borkelmans; team manager, Osama Talal; coach, Stefan Vanderheiden, goalkeeper coach, Alex Vinsel; fitness coach, Karim Malloch; and assistant coach, Ahmed Hayel. The delegation also includes media officer, Mohammed al-Ayasrah; head of production, Salem Hamdan; physiotherapists, Yasser Khairallah, Talat Mehran, Lutfi Dar Odeh and Bakht Biniz; along with supplies officials, Jarir al-Makhamra and Hisham Balawneh.
The squad includes: Ahmed Abdel Sattar, Yazid Abu Laila, Baraa Marie, Anas Bani Yassin, Tariq Khattab, Yazan Al Arab, Firas Shelbaya, Mohammed Al-Dumairy, Mohammed Bani Attia, Yousef Abu Jazar, Khalil Bani Attia, Noor Al Rawabdeh, Ahmed Samir, Bahaa Abdul Rahman, Saleh Rateb, Saeed Morjan, Yousef Al-Rawashdeh, Ahmed Ersan, Mohammed Wael Al-Zu'bi, Hamza Al-Dardour, Yassin Al-Bakhit, Baha Faisal, Amer Shafi, Mousa Al-Taamari. Following this match, Jordan will welcome Kuwait and Nepal respectively on October 10 and 15 in Amman. Al-Nashama will continue their qualifying campaign on November 14 against Australia in Amman, then host Chinese Taipei five days later. The matches resume on March 31 next year in Kuwait and then in Nepal on June 4.
The final match is against Australia in Sydney on June 9.
