BRILLIANT FRANCE BEAT JORDAN IN SECOND MATCH
Sep 03, 2019
Jordan were shown a masterclass in Basketball by France who are one of the favourites for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup. The European heavyweights won 103-64 on Tuesday, handing Jordan their second Group G defeat of the tournament following Sunday’s narrow opening loss to the Dominican Republic in China.
Jordan started well, and were only trailing by seven at the end of the first quarter and had narrowed the deficit to one during the second quarter.
But France, with their NBA-laden line-up, stepped it up a gear and had increased the deficit to 17 points by the half time break. Jordan tired as the game continued and the advantage had increased to 28 points after three quarters, before the French eventually ran out 103-64 winners.
Nando de Colo led the scoring for France with 26 points, while Dar Tucker top scored for Jordan with 20 points. In the group’s other match, the Dominican Republic beat Germany 70-68, which will make Jordan’s remaining game against them even more interesting on Thursday.
