Jordan have been drawn in the same group as the Dominican Republic, Germany and France at the FIBA Basketball World Cup which gets underway this week.
The French have become one of the sport’s powerhouses having finished third in the last edition in Spain.
This year in China represents the eighth time that they have competed at the finals, and the fourth in a row, with a total of 55 matches played that includes 28 victories.
France topped their European qualification group with 10 wins from 12 matches. As well as their impressive World Cup record, France have won two silver medals at the 1948 and 2000 Olympics Games, and won the European Championships in 2013, as well as finishing second twice and third on six occasions.
Their squad includes five NBA stars: Nicolas Batum (Charlotte Hornets); Evan Fournier (Orlando Magic); Rudy Gobert (Utah Jazz); Frank Ntalakina (New York Knicks); and Vincent Piorier (Boston Celtics).
