JORDAN HOSTING ARAB BADMINTON FOR JUNIORS

Jordan is staging the Arab Badminton Championships for U15 and U17 this weekend with early successes for the host nation at Al-Hussein Youth City.
Qusay Thawahra qualified for the U15 quarter-finals with three victories putting him top of Group D, while Marah Omar managed the same to top Group C in the girls’.
In the mixed doubles, Ahmed Suwaidan and Mariam Abu Arra finished second in Group A to qualify for the quarter-finals, while Wissam Hammouda, Farah Omar and Layan Al Khatib all qualified through to the girls’ U17 last eight.
Ezzedine Abu Arra and Wissam Hamouda also qualified in the U17 mixed doubles after finishing top of their group with wins over pairs from Algeria and Lebanon.
