HANDBALL WORKSHOP PROVES A HIT

The sport of Handball enjoyed a wonderful day on Saturday with a host of activities held around a workshop to improve the coaching capabilities of local trainers for young player development.
Held at the Princess Sumaya Hall in Al Hussein Youth City, the day was organised in coordination with the German International Cooperation Agency, the German Olympic Committee and the German Handball Federation.
The workshop combined theory with practical sessions and presentations by Dr. Tayseer Al Mansi, Jordan Handball President; Henning Schick, The Director of the Sports Department of the German Cooperation Agency; and Laura Shatlos, Programme Coordinator.
An agreement was signed with the American University in Madaba, which includes the provision of scholarships for outstanding players, referees and the Union’s employees.
University President, Dr. Nabil Ayoub, said it was important to work closely with sporting organisations to promote the values of sport in our everyday lives.
The federation also announced the latest technical and administrative preparations for the Arab Clubs Championships in Amman from September 23 to October 3.
He also confirmed that the Super Cup will be held on September 22. Dr. Zain El Abidine Bani Hani, Tournament Director, explained that an Arab Union delegation visited Amman recently and confirmed that games would be played at Princess Sumaya Hall and the Sports Palace in Al Hussein Youth City.
