HRH PRINCE HASSAN BIN TALAL OPENS WEST ASIAN JUDO

HRH Prince Hassan bin Talal, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Self-Defence Sports, opened the West Asian Judo Clubs Championships for age groups on Sunday.
Organised by the Jordan Judo Federation in cooperation with the West Asian Federation, the tournament has welcomed 200 athletes from Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan.
The local judoka opened their account with seven medals, including 4 gold, to stand on top of the youth rankings.
The Iraqi Sports Charter Club are second with three medals, including a pair of gold, with a UAE team in third with one gold medal among their four.
Jordan also took top spot in the youth women category with four medals won, finishing ahead of Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. The Jordan national junior team also claimed top spot after the opening day, winning seven medals, including three gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
Meanwhile, Jordan's Prince Hassan Club finished top of the junior girls with three medals including a gold.
