Jordan have got off to a record breaking start at the FINA World Swimming Championships after Khader Baqlah and Amr Al Wir set new Jordan bests in the South Korean city of Quanzhou.
Olympian, Baqlah, broke his own previous best of 3:52.77 in the 400m freestyle with a new time of 3:51.59 minutes.
Teammate Amr AlWir, who took part in the Buenos Aires Youth Olympics last year, finished the 100m breaststroke in a time of 1:02.75 minutes to break the Jordanian record he set at the Croatian Open earlier this year, which was 1:02.80 minutes.
Baqlah is back in the pool tomorrow in the 200m freestyle, while Lydia Safadi will participate in the 100m backstroke.
