JORDAN MEDALS ON OPENING DAY OF ASIAN TAEKWONDO IN AMMAN

Jordan have made the most of home advantage with a couple of medals in the Poomsae competition which has opened Taekwondo’s WTA Cadet & Junior Asian Championships in Amman.
A big home crowd backed the local fighters in Prince Hamzah Hall in Al Hussein Youth City where 140 players from 11 countries were in action today.
The pair of bronze medals came through Hamad Al Jeraisy in the Free Poomsae Junior (Singles) and the Junior Boys Freestyle team.
Faris Al Assaf, Team Director, said this was the first time Jordan have won Poomsae medals at any level in Asia.
Chinese Taipei topped the medal charts after day one with nine medals, including three golds, followed by Thailand with nine medals, but only two golds. South Korea are third with five medals.
The tournament will continue over the coming days.
