THREE-MENDOUS START FOR JORDAN AT ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Jordan have launched their campaign at the Asian Ju-Jitsu Championships with three medals on the opening day in the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator.
The medals were won by Abdulkarim Al-Rasheed (silver -69kg), Sameh Abu Ragheb (silver +94 kg) and Hussein Al-Rasheed (bronze -77 kg).
Abdulkareem beat Mongolia’s Pavovatar Munungchaga, and Kazakhstan's Mamilov Islam before overcoming UAE’s Abdullah Al-Junaibi in the semi-finals. In the final, Al-Rasheed lost to defending champion Pan Pan to settle for silver.
Abu Ragheb beat Thailand's Nadatana and UAE’s Yahia Al Hammadi to reach the final where he lost to Asian champion, South Korea's Jan Yok.
Hussein Al Rasheed beat Singapore’s Tan Daryl and Bahrain's Ali, before losing to South Korea's Youngam in the semi-finals before Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Fouda for the bronze.
