JOC PLACES ENVIROMENT AT THE HEART OF SPORT

The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) has sent a strong message that sport must play a central role in protecting the environment.
It came through a workshop organised by the JOC’s Sport and Environment committee which highlighted the way sport must do all it can not to harm, and in fact to enhance, its surroundings.
The ‘Sport and Environment’ workshop was held at the Physical Education theater in Jordan University and featured talks from Dr. Waleed Rahahleh, Dean of the Physical Education faculty; Dr. Baker Al Abbadi, Head of the JOC Sport and Environment Committee; and Dr. Ghayda’ Abu Rumman, form Al Isra’a University.
The workshop focused on issues such as air pollution, water and health and how sport can encourage a clean environment for all events and facilities.
