TAEKWONDO TEAM ARRIVES IN MANCHESTER

Jordan’s Taekwondo team arrived in Manchester on Saturday evening ahead of its participation in this week’s World Championships which will attract 1,000 fighters from 150 countries.
The 11-strong team underwent its first session soon after touching down and then carried out another training session on Sunday morning at the Manchester Arena where the event will be hosted.
The tournament takes place every two years and will gain added importance this year as it is the final one before the Olympics next year.
Gold medalists will receive 120 Olympic qualifying points, while the second place gets 72 points and the third 43 points with further points available right down to the last 16 round.
