HERO’S WELCOME FOR BOXING MEDALLISTS

There was a hero’s welcome at Queen Alia International Airport for the returning national Boxing team which won two medals at the Asian Championships in Bangkok at the weekend. Obada Al-Kasbeh led the way by winning a silver medal in the -64kg weight, and his fellow Rio Olympian, Hussein Ishaish, clinched bronze in the -91kg.
The pair showed they are in superb form and are looking to step up their training ahead of the World Championships, hosted by Russia, in September.
It was the third time that Ishaish has won bronze at the event, while it was a second Asian silver for Al Kasbeh, following his previous success in 2013.
