U21 CONTINUES KARATE MEDAL HAUL

Jordan has finished the Asian Junior, Youth and U21 Karate Championships in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia with 13 medals after the U21 team added four more on Sunday. After the Junior and Youth teams had won nine between them already, the pressure was on but the U21s delivered in Malaysia with Omar Najjar (silver), Mohammed Fahed Ahmed (bronze), Moussa Daghash (bronze) and Sultan Farah (bronze) all stepping up.
Najjar took silver in the -55kg, after beating fighters from Sri Lanka, China and Malaysia before missing out on gold to Kuwait’s Sultan Al-Mutairi. The remaining three medallists all won their bronze medal fights after either losing in the semi-final or losing in an earlier round to an eventual finalist.
Medals achieved in Malysia (13) U21: Omar Najjar (silver, -55 kg), Mohammed Fahad Ahmed (bronze, -60kg), Sultan Farah (bronze, -67kg), Moussa Daghash (bronze +84kg). Youth: Hassan Masarwa (gold, -68kg), Yazan Alwahar (silver, -76kg), Rahaf Abu Ghaush (silver, -59kg), Abdullah Hammad (bronze, -61kg), Saleh Sawalha (bronze +76). Junior: Zaki Abu Kaoud (gold, +70 kg), Lynn Mansour (silver, -47kg), Said Najjar (silver -52kg), Mohammed Jaafari (bronze, -70kg).
