Musab Al-Momani has put himself in the Jordan history books by winning the Kingdom’s first ever Discus medal at the 23rd Asian Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Momani threw a brilliant 58.27 metres, his best this season, to take the bronze medal behind Iranian throwers Behnam Shiri (60.89m), in second, and Ehsan Haddadi, the silver medallist at the 2012 London Olympics, who won the gold medal with a Championship Record of 65.95m.
It was a brilliant start at the Championships for Jordan who have sent a team of six athletes. The Championships run until April 24 and feature more than 1,000 athletes from 43 countries.
