JAZEERA STEP CLOSER TO QUALIFICATION

Jazeera have continued their unbeaten run in the AFC Cup by beating Syria’s Al Itihad, 2-0, at the Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
It was the third victory from four matches for the Jordanians who sit atop their group on 10 points following the win.
Firas Shalbaya scored after 13 minutes from the penalty spot and Noureddine Rouabda added the crucial second two minutes before half time to put them in a strong position ahead of their penultimate group game against Al Nejmeh, of Lebanon, in Amman on April 30.
Meanwhile, Wehdat will on Tuesday host Al Jaish, of Syria, at the King Abdullah II Stadium in their fourth group match.
