RUGBY WOMEN SET TO MAKE HISTORY
Apr 03, 2019
Jordan’s female rugby players take a trip into the unknown this weekend by competing in their first ever international tournament.
The team will participate in the West Asian Women’s Rugby 7s being held in Doha where they will meet the hosts, Qatar, and Lebanon on Friday.
This participation marks real progress for the sport in the Kingdom driven by an energetic Committee that is working hard to spread the game to new audiences.
The team consists of players from the Al Ahli, Citadel and Nomads clubs who participate in the new national women’s league, with the sport only introduced to female players in 2016.
