ARAB JUNIOR VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SET FOR JORDAN

FOR JORDAN Jordan will host the Arab Junior Volleyball Championship from August 30-September 10, it has been announced by HRH Princess Ayah bint Al Faisal, Chair of the temporary committee running the sport.
Other decisions made at the meeting included the confirmation that centres would be set-up to provide opportunities for new players to take up the sport, while an apology will be sent to the Arab Women’s Championship that unfortunately Jordan will not be taking part.
The committee approved that four teams will go down from the Premier League to the first division and that two teams will be promoted in the other direction.
Two teams will be relegated from division one with two promoted from the second division. Al Taawon Club will join the second division this season.
It was also decided to form a committee to prepare a new strategic plan for the sport and to monitor its performance and progress. The committee will consist of Brigadier Jihad Qutaishat, Issa Alawneh and Fadi Al-Jazazi.
