OLYMPIC QUALIFIERS START WITH A WIN

Jordan’s U23 football team have launched their Olympic qualifying campaign with a solid win in Kuwait.
The Nashama came from 1-0 down to win 2-1 at Hamad International Stadium in Group E with goals from Ward Al Barri and Mohammed Bani Attieh.
In the group’s other game, Syria beat Kyrgyzstan, who Jordan play next on Sunday, 2-0.
There are 43 teams participating in the qualifiers, divided into 11 groups, with the group winners and the top four runners-up going through to the third third Asian U23 Cup in Thailand next year.
The top three from that tournament will participate in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
