WEHDAT, JAZEERA BOTH WIN IN AFC CUP

It was a fruitful night for Jordan’s teams in the AFC Cup with victories for Wehdat and Jazeera.

Wehdat eased past Al Hilal of Jerusalem, 6-2, with star striker Bahaa Faisal bagging four and Mohammed Al-Basha and Saleh Rateb added one more each to make it two wins from two to top Group A.

A single goal from Mahmoud Zaatara in the 59th minute was enough for Jazeera to beat Al Kuwait 1-0 at the Amman International Stadium to go second behind Al Nejmeh of Bahrain on goal difference.

Wehdat face the Syrian Army Club next on April 1 in Bahrain, while Jazeera will meet Syria’s Al-Ittihad on April 2 at the Amman International Stadium.
