WEIGHTLIFTING MEDALS FOR JORDAN IN IRAN

Jordan have impressed at the Fajr International Weightlifting Cup in Tehran by winning a pair of medals on Saturday’s opening day.
Zaid Al-Jabri won silvers in the 61kg weight, lifting 87kg in the snatch and 112kg in the clean and jerk. Hamza Al Ajrama followed with bronze in the 55kg category after lifting 74kg in the snatch and 86kg in the clean and jerk.
On Sunday, Walid Lafi (73kg) and Khalid Al-Aboudi (89kg) will hope to follow their teammates’ lead when they compete for Jordan.
The tournament is one of the qualifying rounds to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics for the silver class, which includes 10 qualifying tournaments.
