WEHDAT, JAZEERA LAUNCH AFC CUP CAMPAIGNS

Wehdat launched their AFC Cup campaign with a 1-0 home win over Lebanon’s Al Nejmeh in Group A on Monday evening.

The only goal of the game was scored by Saeed Morjan in the 11th minute to top the group after Al Hilal, of Palestine, and Al Jaish, of Syria, drew 1-1 in the other match.

Next up for Wehdat is Al Hilal on March 11, while Al Nejmeh will host Al Jaish. Meanwhile, Jazeera returned from Bahrain with a point following a draw with Al Nijmeh at the Bahrain International Stadium in Group B.

Jazeera took an 18th minute lead through through Mahmood Merhi, but the hosts equalised in the 31st minute through Ibrahim Habib.

They will host Al Kuwait on March 11 next at the Amman International Stadium.
