MUTAH WIN WEST ASIAN TABLE TENNIS

Jordan's Mutah Club won the West Asian Women’s Table Tennis Championship for Women on Saturday in Amman.
Held over three days in Princess Sumaya Hall, Al Hussein Youth City, the tournament welcomed 100 players from Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and Jordan.
Mutah won courtesy of remaining unbeaten with four wins from four games against two sides from Syria, who finished second and third, Hamada of Jordan and Ashti of Iraq.
Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad won the men’s title after beating Jordan’s Al Mafraq 3-1 in the final.
Al Mafraq reached the final with a quarter-final victory over Al-Madinah followed by a semi-final win over Iraq’s Peshmerga in the semi-final, 3-2.
