JORDAN MISS OUT ON AFC ASIAN CUP QUARTER-FINALS

Jordan are out of the AFC Asian Cup following a heartbreaking defeat to Vietnam on penalties at the Rashid Al-Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.

The match finished 1-1 after 120 minutes, but Vietnam held their nerve during the spot kicks to go through.

Jordan took the lead through a superb free kick from the edge of the area by Baha Abdel-Rahman six minutes before half time.

But Vietnam hit back early in the second half through striker to Nguyễn Công Phượng to level. Extra time couldn’t separate the two sides so penalties were needed and it was Vietnam who go into the last eight, 4-2.
