GOALKEEPER SCORES WONDER GOAL!
Nov 17, 2018
Goalkeepers don’t score goals in open play very often, and particularly in a full international football match.
But Jordan’s legendary No 1, Amer Shafi, achieved just that by giving Jordan the lead against India last night in a friendly.
Shafi collected the ball from a long clearance and launched his kick up field after noticing his Indian counterpart was out of position.
It bounced over him and into the net, giving Jordan the lead in the 23rd minute. Ehssan Haddad added the second goal for Jordan in the 58th minute, before India pulled one back in the 61st minute through Micho Kumar.
Jordan will play another friendly on Tuesday against Saudi Arabia as they prepare for the Asian Cup that will be held in the UAE early in the new year.
