JAZEERA LOSE OPENING LEG OF FINAL

Jordan’s hopes of having a team in the later stages of the AFC Asian Cup took a blow when Jazeera lost the opening leg of their West Asian zone final to Air Force Club, of Iraq.

Despite enjoying long periods of possession at the Amman International Stadium, Jazeera went down to a single goal just after the hour when skipper Hammadi Ahmad lost his marker on the turn to slot home from edge of the box.

The return leg will be held on October 2 in Iraq.
