ISHAISH ADDS BOXING BRONZE FOR JORDAN
Aug 31, 2018
Following the medal success of Taekwondo, Ju-Jitsu and Karate, Team Jordan’s boxers have celebrated their first success at the Asian Games in Jakarta.
Despite only being 19, Ziad Ishaish dominated his Welterweight (-69kg) quarter-final against Qatar’s vastly more experienced Thulasimaaran Thuramalingam.
But he lost his last four fight to Kazakhstan’s in-form Aslanbek Shymbergenov in Friday’s semi-final.
“Considering it was his first Asian Games, he did superbly well,” said Head Coach, Ezz Eldein Aqqoun. “He took on the best in Asia and showed he is already one of them. We can be so proud of him.”
