JOC LAUNCHES NEW HEALTH INITIATIVE
Oct 04, 2015
The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) has launched an engaging new initiative as part of its Living Sport strategy to make sport and healthy living a part of every Jordanians’ life.
The Five Rings Challenge has been created by the JOC, Jordan’s leading sports organisation, to reach out to those who may not have previously realised the importance of sport and healthy living.
The programme educates citizens about the Olympic values and the positive impact they can make on our lives.
Each Saturday, dozens of participants from a variety of backgrounds, take on the Five Rings Challenge which combines both physical tests with mental agility for two hours through a series of challenges which are:
- Warm up exercises
- Football
- Basketball
- Volleyball
- Olympic Values
Participants are divided into four groups, with two teams playing together for 20 minutes before moving on to the next. The idea is not who wins or loses, but to keep participants active whilst teaching new methods of how to practise sport through easy methods presented by JOC specialists.
The challenge will continue every week through to its conclusion on January 26, next year.
