AL WADI TAKES UKRAINE GOLD

Mohammad Al Wadi has warmed up for next month’s Asian Cup in stunning style by winning gold at the Ukraine International Boxing Championships held in Odessa.

The young 56kg fighter beat Nicolai Valdir, of Belarus, with a solid 5-0 verdict to show that he is in superb form ahead of the massive multi-sport event next month in Indonesia. Prior to the final, he beat three boxers from the host nation in the earlier rounds.
His teammate, Hussein Ishaish, won bronze for Jordan in the 91kg weight earlier in the tournament.
