May 12, 2018
Under the patronage of HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee, the 14th IWWF Jordan Ayla Cable Wakeboard World Cup has finished with a wonderful closing ceremony that was also attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah in Aqaba.
The event was dominated by German athletes with Ariano Balnik taking the Men’s title after three days of competition followed by fellow countryman Dominik Gorse.
France’s Luis Mistawdi was third. In the Women’s division, Germany’s Julia Rick came first, followed by Australian, Courtney Angus, with The Netherlands’ Maxine Sablit in third.
HRH Prince Feisal presented the awards at the ceremony along with Ayla CEO, Sahel Dodeen, and the JOC Secretary General, Nasser Majali.
The IWWF chose Ayla to host the World Cup following a number of well-organised regional sporting events held at the world-class facility.
The Executive Manager of the IWWF, Mr. Paul Fong, praised the organising committee.
“We are delighted with the great success of this event. Jordan has delivered something special through this wonderful host venue, Ayla.”
The event welcomed over 50 athletes representing 36 countries.
