EIGHT MEDALS FOR JORDAN KARATE

Jordan’s karate team has won eight medals, including two golds, to date at the West Asian Championships being held in Sharjah, UAE.
The first gold medal came through Bashar Al Najjar in the 67kg category, followed by Eviline El Da’da in the women’s 61kg. There were silvers for Khalid Ismael (60kg), Hatem Al Dweek (75kg) and Mahmoud Al Sajan (84kg).
The women took kata team bronze, with Qamar Al Kurdi (individual kata) and Raghad Al Muhtaseb (55kg) also taking bronze medals.
Meanwhile, former karate champion Manar Sha’eth was promoted to Asian Refereeing level after passing her assessment.
