ITALIAN TAKES JORDAN TRIATHLON

Italy’s Dani Gasparini has won the Jordan Open Triathlon and Duathlon which took place at the Lagoon Spa, Dead Sea.

Britain’s Jonathan Baron finished second, while another Britain, James Edward, finished third.

In the women’s event, USA’s Marithia Barin took the title followed by Britain’s Kary Harber while the USA’s Christina Bagn finished third.

Jordan's Malik Mutlak took the Duathlon title, followed by Omar Khairi, while Muna Jaber took ladies Duathlon.

The event was organised by the Jordan Triathlon Association who are working hard to raise the sport’s profile through events like this.

“This has become an annual event and will hopefully continue to grow,” said Dr. Tareq Al Khayyat, President.

“As well as the number of participants increasing gradually, the event showed that the standard is getting better as well.
