JORDAN SET FOR WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS
Sep 03, 2015
Jordan’s long journey to try and qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the 2019 Asian Championships in UAE continues tonight (Thursday) when they entertain Kyrgyzstan in Amman (7pm).
Jordan got off to a wonderful start with a 3-1 win in Tajikistan to top Group B earlier this summer, and go into tonight’s match confident of building on that victory.
It will be Belgian coach Paul Put’s first competitive match in charge and his squad received a boost with a visit to training this week by HRH Prince Ali Al Hussein, President of the JFA.
Following tonight’s match at the Amman International Stadium, the Nashama will travel to Bangladesh for their next match on Tuesday.
Also in Jordan’s group are favourites Australia, with the games acting as double headers to qualify for both events.
