Umniah Telecommunications Company has signed up as a partner to the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC), in an agreement that will boost sport throughout the Kingdom.
The announcement was made at the Olympic Preparation Centre where JOC Secretary General, Nasser Majali, was joined by Ziad Shatarah, the CEO of Umniah.
“We are delighted to welcome Umniah as our partner,” said Majali.
“This agreement comes as part of our strategy to provide the best support for Jordan sport, following the directions of HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, the President of the JOC.”
He added that partnerships with the private sector are crucial towards improving sport in the Kingdom and providing the best sporting opportunities for all Jordanians.
The agreement was warmly supported by Shatarah who added: “It's an important mission for us to keep supporting sport and our athletes and to help them to become champions.
“We already have a strong track record of investing in our sporting talent and can include Olympian Ahmad Abu Ghaush, Wehdat and Faiali football clubs, explorer Mustafa Salameh, and Karting champion Abdullah Al Dasuqi in our portfolio.
“It is a pleasure to now extend that support to the JOC, which is doing tremendous work in developing the sports movement in Jordan, so that dreams can come true.”
