Jordan will be taking a young tennis team as part of its delegation to the Islamic Solidity Games which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan from May 12-22.
Six players will compete, with many still in their teens as the sport looks to get a foothold on the Asian scene with this current crop.
The national team coach is Tunisian Rafiq Bushlaqa who said that the tournament provides the ideal opportunity to build for the future.
“We have enjoyed some promising results on an Asian level through recent age competitions so Baku will be a great chance to see how we are doing on the senior level also,” said Bushlaqa.
“It will be a very good standard and of course we are going to compete but the overall benefit from going there will be test just how far we have progressed.
“We are focusing on youngsters,” said Bushlaqa. “We are targeting youngsters to build their competence in Tennis and train them physically and mentally.”
Jordan will be represented in Baku by Musa Qottob, Hamzeh Al Aswad and Seif Adas.
