JORDANIANS INVITED TO ‘DISCOVER SPORT’
The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) is celebrating Olympic Day on Monday with an open invitation for Jordanians to discover everything they need to know about sport.
Olympic Day is a global celebration that promotes the values and importance of sport and the JOC has created a morning of activity that is supported by National Federations, athletes and officials.
From 11am-1pm, Jordanians have the chance to visit a Discover Sport Village in Prince Hamzeh Hall, Al Hussein Youth City, which will provide members of the public with the opportunity to find out whatever information they need.
All 32 Sporting Federations will be present to provide information to interested parties with a view to encouraging more people to participate in their sports. There will also be demonstrations.
The Royal Health Awareness Society and the Children’s Museum will also participate with areas designated to encourage healthy activity, particularly amongst the young.
"Olympic Day gives us an opportunity to communicate the Olympic Values and the power of sport to all Jordanians,” said Lana Al Jaghbeer, JOC Secretary General. “It is an open invitation for all to join us and to learn what sport has to offer them here in Jordan.”
The Olympic Day Discover Sport Village is free to enter and for more information on sport in Jordan, visit www.joc.jo.
