Hosts Jordan enjoyed a winning start to the 24th Asian Youth and Junior Squash Championships taking place at the Al Hassan Squash Centre until August 19.
Jordan Day One results:
U19 first round: Albdulkader Jeitan beat Ha Weerasinghe from Sri Lanka and will meet India’s Abhay Singh next.
Mohammad Al Serraj will launch his campaign against Korea’s Lee Dong Min in the second round.
U17 first round:
Abdulrahmman Mahmoud beat Sri Lanka’s Methmal Wood 3-0, and Hamzeh Al Serraj beat Qatar’s Rashid Ali, 3-0.
Mahmoud Ayesh is out after losing to Egypt’s Mustafa Al Mamoori, 3-1.
U15 first round:
Abdulrahmman Al Serraj beat Sri Lanka’s Randina Dht, 3-0, while Ahmad Hdaib beat Qatar’s Ibrahim Al Darwish, 3-1. Bara’ Al Khatatneh beat another Sri Lankan, Sadisha Rajapaksha, 3-0.
U13 first round: Mohammad Al Bataineh Sri Lanka’s Weckasinghe Ct, 3-0.
