Jordan got off to a dramatic start at the Asian Basketball Championships with a narrow opening evening win in Beirut over Syria.
The Kingdom got off to a tremendous start in the opening quarter, leading 28-12, but their Syrian counterparts battled back to win the next three quarters.
But Jordan did enough to hold on and take the match 68-66 with Musa Al Awadi top scoring with 16 points. Next up for Jordan is India on Saturday night who lost their opening match to Iran 101-54.
The tournament, featuring the continent’s top 16 teams, will run through to August 20.
