Jordan Rugby Committee has announced that it will be hosting a major tournament in the Kingdom later this year.
The 3rd Arab Rugby 7s Championship will be held at Petra University Stadium from October 6-7 and feature seven nations - Iraq, Egypt, UAE, Libya, Morocco, Lebanon and Jordan.
The Secretary General of the Jordan Rugby Committee Dr. Zu’bi Al Zu’bi expressed his delight at being selected to be the host nation.
“We are proud to host this championship for the first time in Jordan as Rugby is spreading rapidly in the region,” he said.
“I am hoping that the knock-on effect of hosting this event will be the opportunity bto promote the sport to the wider population and encourage more people to take up the sport.
“Therefore we are hoping that the team will have a good run and win some matches!”
