JORDAN HEAD TO ASIAN BASKETBALL CUP

Jordan have arrived in Lebanon to participate in the 29th Asian Cup to be held in Beirut from August 8-20.
The team includes Mohammad Abdein, Senan Eid, Malik Kan’an, Musa Al Awdi, Ahmad Hamarsheh, Sami Ebzegh, Ameen Aby Hawas, Yousef Abu Wazneh, Ahmad Obeid, Ali Jamal, Mohammad Shaher, and Kevin Wear.
Jordan will be lead by Coach Sam Daghlas, who will be supported by chef de mission Ibrahim Sha’rawi, fitness coach Amin Atta, physiotherapist Anas Jarajrah, and backroom support from Fadi Sabat and Ramzi Kawar.
The team was camping in Turkey over the last week preparing for their Group A campaign against Syria, Iran and India.
Jordan play Syria first on Wednesday before meeting India on Saturday.
The team will face Iran in their final group game on Sunday.
Only top of the group will qualify automatically to the quarter-final, where second and third will play further rounds to try and advance.
The Asian Cup will attract 16 teams from Asia in addition to Australia and New Zealand.
