ISSA TAKES KINGDOM CHESS TITLE

Ra’fat Issa has clinched the 2017 Jordan Chess Championships which took place in the Royal Chess Federation at Al Hussein Youth City.
Ra’fat won five matches, drew four and lost two from 11 rounds held over the past two weeks.
His 7.5 points were enough to clinch the title from reigning champion Ahmad Al Khateeb who finished second with seven points.
Sameer Mansour was third with 6.5 points.
The championship attracted the best 11 players including two women and one from the juniors category.
“We are really pleased with the level of the Championships,” said Osamah Rabea’, the Championship Director.
Meanwhile, the Kingdom's Juniors Championships started Thursday with over 100 boys and girls taking part.
