Jul 27, 2017
Jordan’s swimmers continue to set new national and personal best times at the FINA World Championships taking place in Budapest.
Youngster Amro Al Wir took a giant step towards next year’s Youth Olympics in Buenos Aeries by almost recording a B qualification time in the 200m breaststroke.
Al Wir knocked nearly four seconds off his previous best to finish in 2 minutes 23.09 seconds, just 0.16 seconds from a B qualification time to show he is moving fast in the right direction.
Meanwhile, two-time Olympian Talita Baqlah became the first Jordanian female to break a minute in the 100m Freestyle after she finished in 59.33 seconds, beating Dara Al Bakri previous best of 1:00.12.
Mohammad Al Bdour will compete Friday in the 50m Freestyle, while Talita will compete in 50m butterfly.
