FANOUS JUST MISSES OUT ON ASIAN MEDAL
Jul 22, 2017
Lawrence Fanous has finished sixth in the Asian Triathlon Championships, but knows a medal could have been in his grasp.
The 32-year-old Olympian lost two minutes during a slow transition after the swimming and it cost him dearly.
He was in the leading pack coming out the water but was always playing catch-up on the bike after his error and despite a strong run, he could only claim sixth spot.
"I could have been sprinting for a medal if I hadn't messed up the transition after the swim," he said after the race in Indonesia.
"It was frustrating as I know what might have been but to be finish fourth fastest in the run was pleasing."
