YOUNG SENSATION MAKES ASIAN FINAL

 Asian Youth Athletics Champion Sharif Al Atawneh has qualified to the final of the 1500m at the Asian Athletics Championships being held in Odisha, India.

The 17-year-old has burst onto the middle distance scene this year and finished fourth in a time of 3:57.93 to make the final which will be held tomorrow (Friday).

Meanwhile, Tamara Armoush, 25, also qualified to tomorrow’s final of the women’s 1500m after securing third place in a time of 4:25.84.

Not to be outdone, 17-year-old Alya Bushnaq made it a day to remember for Jordan by reaching the final of the 400m and the semi-final of the 100m.

It wasn’t to be though for Abdulrahman Abu Hummus who failed to advance from his heat after running in a time of 49.08 seconds.
