TOUGH GROUP FOR JORDAN AT ASIAN CUP

Jordan will face some familiar opposition when they compete in Group A at the 29th Asian Basketball Cup to be held in Lebanon from August 8-20.
Following today’s draw, Jordan have been grouped with fellow West Asian side Iran and Syria as well as India.
The top three teams will qualify to the second round with the group winners going directly to the quarter-finals.
China have recorded the most titles with 16, followed by The Philippines who have won it five times and Iran with three titles.
Group A: Jordan, Syria, Iran and India
Group B: Iraq, China, Philippines and Qatar
Group C: Kazakhstan, Lebanon, South Korea and New Zealand
Group D: Japan, Hong Kong, Chines Taipei and Australian.
