BUSHNAQ SECURES PLACE IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Jordan's Alya Bushnaq has secured a place at the World Youth Athletics Championships to be held in Kenya after breaking two national records at the Asian version in Thailand.
Bushnaq knocked more than half a second off the 100m record to finish third her heat in a time of 12.31 seconds.
She then set a new Jordan mark in the 400m heat when she finished second in a time of 56.73 seconds.
She will compete in the finals of both on Sunday.
Meanwhile, her teammate Nour Al Qadi has missed out in the Long Jump despite a respectable leap of 4.99m.
Mohammad Abu Zeina missed out in the 400m after finishing sixth overall in 52.85.
On Sunday, Shareif Al Atawneh will compete in the 3000m, Al Qadi will compete in the High Jump and Ahmad Nofal in the Long Jump.
